AAON Marketing | Jan 2026
At AAON, we are continuously working to improve the accuracy and reliability of our tools and performance data.
As part of the December ECat release (version 363), performance for several units has been updated to better reflect real-world operation. This update includes re-rating certain digital and 2-step compressors, along with more accurate modeling of heat transfer through the RN-A and RN-B cabinets. These improvements apply across all condensing styles, including air-cooled microchannel, air source heat pump, water source heat pump, and water source condensing units.
While these changes affect application capacity and performance values within ECat, they do not impact AHRI-listed performance.
Recommended Action
To ensure you are using the most accurate performance data, we recommend re-running selections in ECat for the following units when they include digital and/or 2-step compressors:
RN-A 8-ton
RN-B: 13 & 15-ton
RN-C: 16-ton 2-circuit
CF: 15- and 16-ton
SB: 7-ton WSHP & water-cooled condensing units
If you have any questions about how these updates may impact your selections or applications, please contact your Regional Sales Manager.
